So some friends of ours were getting rid of their dinning room set. It is a great set solid wood, nice detail but I just didn't like the color and so...............

I am VERY impressed. It makes me want to try something like that someday. Maybe when we get back I will just ask for hand-me-down stuff for our house and redo it all. We did sell most everything before we left so the only one of us that has any real furniture to come home to is James. I kept his crib cuz I loved it so.
You will have to post a "how to" post about what you actually did. Did you have to sand it all?
