When we got to Park City we met up with my parents, Kevin and Morgan. It was the first time that i had the pleasure of meeting my future sister-in-law. She was better and more beautiful than her pictures or phones calls. I was happy to give my approval. I'm so glad that Kevin found her. when i first saw Kevin he looked just like Allen to me. He looked so grown up. It was really cute to see how he treated his sweet heart and just how in love with her he is.
Staying in Park City brought back so many memories for me of my honey moon and the time in my life that I was in Kevin's shoes. I'm very happy to say that I love Josh more everyday and that the past nine years have been very happy ones. I look forward to everyday that I have with my eternal companion and I'm so happy that I do have eternity with him.
Saturday the rest of the family came into town. We went with the Wagstaffs to a extrema aero sports place with trampolines and foam block pits. I went off the trapeze a couple of times and jumped into the foam pits but in the end I realized that I am getting old and need to work out. I had a good time with Andrew in the toddler section and watching everyone throw their bodies around everywhere. We went to a park for a picnic, walked around BYU campus, and had ice cream and the BYU creamery (Yummm). Allen & Becca and Boyd & Kathryn arrived, let the chaos begin! Josh and I escaped to a walk on Park City's Main St. We got back to more family arriving aunt Cathy & uncle Dan and Aunt Jan & Uncle Ralph. It was wonderful to have so much family there. I really enjoyed their hugs and catching up with them.
Sunday was great. We all went to Salt Lake City to see Music and the Spoken Word performed and recorded at the tabernacle. A first for me. It was so uplifting the spirit was so strong it brought tears to my eyes. We then attended Sacrament meeting at the Joseph Smith Memorial building. The building is breath taking at how beautiful it is. Everything in downtown is new and kept up. Josh and I slipped away to visit Josh's family. We got together with his Aunt Sharon and her family. they started to tell stories of the good ol'days of sister fights and annoying Grandma Green. Cousin Karen had everyone in stitches. While we were visiting Claire and Ella were having a good time playing with Andrew. They were so sweet with him. We got back to the condo put kids to bed and visited with family. My favorite part of the evening was listening to Allen and Becca practice their song for the next day. They are soooo good and easy to listen to. I wish I could record them singing and share them with everyone. I love them so much.
Monday. The day we have all been waiting for (Kevin especially). We arrived at the temple and it was a wonderful reunion with family. Skeels, Bednars, Grandpa, Clarks, Hathaways, Christiansens..... it was wonderful. As we were waiting in the sealing room I sat there by my siblings and Husband looking into the mirrors and it felt like a preview of what is to come after this life. Elder Bednar performed the sealing. He took the opportunity to teach not just Kevin and Morgan but everybody in the room. He taught that too many people try to fill their lives with stuff and lose sight on what is really important which is each other and that the root to divorce is selfishness. After the sealing and ring ceremony was over he had Kevin and Morgan stand in front of the mirrors again and this time the parents and grandparents. He admonished all of the parents to now let go of their children and let them be husband and wife. He said it in a very nice way but I thought it was profound advice and some that you don't hear enough. We got to exit the room and as we did we got to embrace the new couple and as i did I was washed with the love that I have for my brother and for my new sister. I am so happy for them and so happy that Morgan has become part of our eternal family.
It was nice to casually visit with family and meet Morgan's relatives. The luncheon was perfect. Us sisters got to quietly give Morgan her "sister necklace". It was our way of welcoming her into our exclusive sister club. I was really glad that Heather got that together. She really thinks of everything. My favorite part of the luncheon was Allen & Becca singing "Lucky". They are so captivating. I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!
