vacation part 2

Sunday was nice. Kevin bore his testimony in sacrament meeting. I was really glad that they boys got to see their Uncle Kevin bare his testimony. I know that they won’t remember what he said (I’ve already forgotten) but I hope that they remember how they felt because the spirit was strong. After sacrament meeting it was time to separate into our different meetings and Adam got in his head that we weren’t going to stay for primary. He really put up a fight and after feeling his heart racing like an anxiety attack was coming on I backed off. Great Grandmother came over after church for the big Sunday meal. I think that this is what it is like every Sunday for my family here. It makes me want to live closer. My favorite moment that day was getting to drive Grandmother back to her apartment and visiting with her with out my children there to distract me.
Monday was a great start to our week in Arkansas. There’s nothing more Arkansas than the Ammon’s farm. To get there you turn off the main dirt road about 7 mi into the Ozarks and when you get to the end of the dirt road you have made it. Before I knew it Adam and Zachary were off chasing chickens and kittens. They pulled out all of the stops for us. They took all of the kids to see the baby chicks, the baby goats, they saddled up a pony and let every one have a ride. They brought in some of their other horses for them to see. Then sister Ammons made us a big lunch and we ate it in their pavilion by their pond. Adam got to go fishing and throw rocks into their pond. We saw a cat catch a mouse and everyone played on the see-saw and swing set. I thought that we would only be there for 45 min to an hour but three and a half hours later we left. Andrew was in the front pack for most of the time and loved seeing everything. He took a great nap that after noon. We came back to the house launched a rocket off with granddad. Adam got to lead the count-down for the launch. That night When I asked him what his favorite thing that he got to do that day was he told me “counting down at the rocket launch.” We swam for the rest of the day. Adam went down the slide and jumped off the diving board. It was the most fun that he has ever had in a pool. After Andrew got up I put his little bathing suit on and he went for a swim too.
Tuesday we went to chucky cheese with all of the cousins. Hadley and Zachary were two little peas in a pod. She took him around and they went on rides together and took pictures together. Adam blazed through his tokens and got a bunch of tickets which made him happy. We came home, watched a movie, and played again in the pool That evening after we put the children to bed us Adult kids went to see the Harry Potter movie together. It was nice to get out as adults.
Wednesday was another lake day. My favorite thing was that I got to go surfing. I did pretty good in fact I guess I did too good because I rode the surf board right up onto the boat. Opps. The real highlights for me is seeing my kids have a good time with their cousins.
Thursday we visited Great grandparents (which I know is boring for the kids but it is important) then that afternoon I took the older boys to the Wagstaff’s house. Adam and Chad had a nice time playing with each other. It make his week. That evening Adam went to the store with his cousins and uncle Kevin. The report that we heard was that Adam was the best behaved one. Adam stayed close and just laughed in the back as Chad was getting a beating from Austin for farting and smelling up the car. Josh enjoyed being with my dad in his shop.
Friday was just a hang out day. I had one request of my mom and that was that we would craft together. We took the time to do that. We made these lil crayon holders. I really enjoyed crafting with my mom. It is something that I don’t get to do because I live so far away.
